Tokyo

One of the first photo's I took with my new camera. It's the first digital camera I own. But I'm totally hooked now. I'm amazed it came out this way. I liked how the red just jumped out from the 'crowd'.  I would love to know what's written on them.

Very nicely observed. What are those things, anyway?
Scarlet: Thanks Larry. To be honest They're lampoons but I have no idea what purpose they serve. They hang at the entrance of the temple. At certain temples I visited they're were lit at night. Unfornately any pics I took of them just didn't come out right.

Welcome to SC, Saskia/Scarlett. And you're from Holland, I see (where I am half of every month)!!

I love this capture as well and agree that the red jumps out. Very good eye to see this. I like your angle!
Scarlet: Thank you so much Ginnie.
Hi Scarlet

excellent image...are those not prayer lamps? I imagine the nighttime shot would look incredible! Pleeeeaaaasssssseeeee try one if you get a chance...would love to see it

regards

liam
Scarlet: Thanks Liam, I will go through my archive to see if I can find one that's fairly presentable. I didn't really know how to work the camera so lots of misprints especially the nighttime shots.
I have enjoyed all your pictures but this one really stands out. Have you tried cropping it down at all? I can't help feeling there is another picture around the red lantern on the second row down.
Scarlet: You're too kind. Seriously I'm still in the learning fase so I haven't gotten to the cropping and 'manipulating' my pics yet. Always looking for handy tips and all.
